Let me introduce myself

My name is Heleen Janssen and I live with my family -my husband, 7 year old girl twins and our son of 7 years- in Eindhoven (Meerhoven).

During and after my education in Social Pedagogical Work I enjoyed working in nurseries. Because I went on to study I started working in a nursing home, in both somatic and psychiatric care units. I also completed my nursing education here. During this education and my work experiences I became more and more interested in the human psyche, which made me start my bachelor degree Social Work for Residential Institutions. I also started working in psychiatry. As a psychiatric social worker I have guided people with all kinds of psychiatric problems in sheltered housing. Both individually and in groups and in all areas of life. Using methodically founded guidance plans that I drew up together with my clients, I supported and stimulated them to pursue a meaningful and autonomous life. In addition, in this field I have also been able to learn a lot about crisis interventions and dealing with transgressive behaviour. And with additional functions such as internship supervisor, activity coach and training my colleagues to deal with transgressive behaviour, I have seen and done quite a bit within this organization in more than 11 years.

When I decided to move to Eindhoven in 2020, this was a perfect moment for me to reflect, which led to a farewell to psychiatry. With the arrival of a third child, I realized how much I longed to go back to where I had once started.
To see children grow up and develop and to be able to guide them in this process is the most beautiful thing to me. And what could be better than making what you love most about your daily work?

When I started my own childminder care in November 2021, it felt like a very natural choice to me. In this way I can also offer other children quality care in the vicinity of my own children. Small-scale, in a homely atmosphere and with a lot of personal attention.
